For the film, it has been decided that one of the main interviews will be with the Aricci family, referring to the parents (Antony and Geri) of a son with autism. Unfortunately their son has decided not to take part for his own personal reasons. Despite this slight setback however his parents have agreed to take part. I should mention that there are a few particular reasons why I decided to pick this family.
One is that I've known them since I was a very little as they are close family friends. Another is that they are very knowledgeable on the subject of autism, particularly Antony. This is not only because they have raised a son who's autistic but also because they have jobs looking after people who need extra care. Antony is a speech language therapist and his wife, Geri is a nurse. This means between them they have what I feel is a lot of knowledge to give on the subject and how it relates to their son. This will give a real inside look on their experiences and I think will give the viewing public a great deal of insight into the subject. As well as to help justifiably explain why those with Autism might need the extra care and attention that society perhaps looks down on.
