Because the ideas I am working on for my documentary are based around people who are found to be heroic I have decided to add some definitions to make my main topic easily distinguishable.

The Modern Example of A "Super-Hero". Despite them being fictional, Batman and Superman are seen as inspirational figures for millions of fans in the 21st century.

What is a hero to me?

To me a hero is a person that is admired by others for performing a couragous act or even just inspiring them to better there life. I feel that it is arguable who can be considered a hero or not but it is all in the perceived opinion of the individual to make this decision.

The Oxford English Dictionary's Definition Of A Hero

"A person, typically a man, who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities"

This is heavily linked to "hero worship", this is defined as "excessive admiration for someone." This is where the phrase superhero comes from.
